I am Barbara J. Katzenberg, an attorney with experience in the field of family law since 1990. I work to develop workable solutions to challenging family law problems, while protecting my clients' rights.
My practice focuses exclusively in the area of family law and the related issues of:

- Contested child custody removal proceedings

- Division of marital property
- Complex property division involving businesses, real estate and other marital assets
- Post-divorce actions — modifications and contempts

- Non-marital family law matters — including paternity, issues involving non-married people with children, and guardianships
- Other family law matters as well as appellate work
My work in the area of divorce spans the full range of cases, from uncontested divorce to those involving complex asset division and contentious child custody matters.
My Background
Since my years in college, where I studied child development, I have had a strong interest in the well-being of children. This motivated me to obtain a Masters degree in Social Work. As a social worker in New Jersey, I handled many cases involving families in crisis and other challenging matters. After graduating from Boston College Law School in 1990, I worked for several years as a lawyer for the Department of Revenue's Child Support Enforcement Division, where my work included the prosecution of criminal non-support cases.
I now use these experiences in private practice — helping men and women in the greater Worcester, Massachusetts, Metro West and Central Massachusetts area resolve difficult family law problems.
My Commitment to Each Client
As a solo practitioner associated with Wolfson, Keenan, Cotton & Meagher, I work directly with each client. I take the time needed to understand the client's situation and examine possible solutions. During my consultations, I explain the legal issues in the case, the client's legal options and the potential risks and rewards of those options.
